What you say counts!

It really does. The addition of online leaderboards using OpenFeint, one more enemy type in the fast-running Firefurry and the expert mode for people who can handle the heat were among the things added into the launch version of Minigore, because you guys wanted these things! See the updated feature list.

Be sure to keep the feedback coming -- we are hard at work with the next version and we are listening!

  3. Oh my god... Awesome :D

I officially love whoever actually wrote that.

In other news, i'll be back later to give some suggestions ^.^

  4. I think having different color clovers would be cool and collecting different combinations could turn you into different beasts with different abilities

    ReplyDelete
  5. Is it really rejected? Hope not

    ReplyDelete
  6. Don't worry, it's just a spoof, think about it, why would Apple ever reject something for not being violent enough? :P

Aside from the fact the related articles are "HBO Presentation Fails To Deliver Promised 'Brief Nudity'" and "Nation Impressed By Large Pair Of Breasts" xD

Anyway, been thinking, what about a couple of loosely story based missions? Like rescuing someone and keeping them alive for extraction or whatever... I guess you'd need to create a more linear type level for that...

So, we've got grassland, desert and snow already... What about a city level or a scary forest or something :) Oooh, grenades...

Yes, i might very well be writing these down as i think of them :D

  7. How much longer till this goes live?

  8. Different modes according to Shokz would be a great fun!
What about adding a mission just for fighting against the bosses? And a training mode which John gore is invulnerable, for guys who wanna train their speed to kill monsters.
I think levels like maze would also be fun.Like a hotel level which the player have to find out the monsters to kill and they can even use the escalator and lifts for different floor searching.

thanks for reading such a long comment lol

    ReplyDelete
  9. o i love the hotel idea, some creepy old run down place or even an ultra ritzy posh place could work... but yh i can imagine the broken sparking neon sign.. or the massive ballroom complete with chandelier... dunno if the different levels would work in terms of actually making them but id love some staircases, hallways, basements, gardens and rooftop confrontations :)

  10. yea those would be awsome. A haunted mansion. I dont know if itll work but have u guys thought of a flamethrower?

P.s. Any word on when it'll be on the appstore. Been almost a week, feels like ages! lol

    ReplyDelete
  11. I think protection missions would be good but hotel and mansion is getting a little ahead of this game. (but a beach level with water furries would be cool)

and dude it's only been 4 days. It probably won't be out till Monday or Tuesday

    ReplyDelete
  12. One more thing to add is,it is better for the player to choose what time to get evolve to a big gore since,if there are not much enemies around and I get three gloves already,it seems hard to collect another three.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I have some concept art that you might want to take a look at for later updates if you would like to take a look please email me at jerrybake1@gmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  14. 5days actually, thats almost a week

    ReplyDelete
  15. i absolutely hate protection mission things n they somehow end up in almost evry game i play, plz dnt!! but yh protecting n time limits are a crazy no no for me... o n i like the beach thing.. n there could be lifeguards n sharks n john gore in boardies or something.. n maybe a graveyard with frankensteins n vampires or the sewers and alligators or a vegas casino or the moon or mexico with sombrero salsa monsters or the great wall of china or yeah... just kinda blurted alot out..

  16. I would like some online play. A legit map with new weapons and modes. Also I like the idea of a full map and story mode. I would pay 10 buxs for that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 4 days actually. Submitted on the 11 it's the 15. 15-11=4

    ReplyDelete
  18. ^ yeah def online play

and todays the 16th where i am, so its 5 days to me

    ReplyDelete
  19. If you could make a 2 player competitive mode that could be interesting.......maybe have one player play as john gore and the other sees the map from a much higher view and taps anywhere onscreen to deploy a furry. Determining where the furry is placed is simply a matter of touching where you want him. There is a circle around john in which furries can't be placed so that you can't place them on top of john. The way to determine which type of furry you send out is a bar at the bottom of the screen which fills over time (quicky) with symbols lining the bar. The highest symbol represents the biggest furry so if you want to send one out you have to take it easy on how many smaller ones you deploy so the bar can fill up. I hope I explained thy right because It took a while to plan out haha. -LD

  20. ^^
    WOW that sounds AWSOME
pretty pleeeaseee put that in! :D
i would pay for an update with that in it!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Shokz: About grenades -- how about double tapping the pads to throw one? Or to land a mine...

Anon #6: Boss fight missions sound good! Invulnerability as a training mode is worth developing further. I wonder if there should be time target you can set for yourself to make it more goal-oriented.

Anon #8: A flamethrower crossed my mind. I think it has the potential for being really cool. I'm thinking it should be really effective and really heavy and make John Gore slow, or maybe it's like a turret you can mount. You probably don't want the player be able to run into the flames and set themselves on fire. :D

Anon #10: You're right in that getting three clovers can be challenging. I think the current scheme of player having control over when they are going to be picking the final clover up makes for some really interesting risk-reward situations when people don't pick the third one up right away, but choose to wait until there are more enemies to eat nearby.
    Anon #11: Mailed you!

Anon #14: Online play in the form of co-op is coming in the first update.

Anon #17: Awesome idea! I need to resist the urge of dropping everything else and start prototyping that one right away :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Also you'd have to come up with a power-up for the player controlling the furries, perhaps a black clover (a "shadow"). The shadow would give the player a limited time of having the bar stay full so they could place more large furries. I have plenty of other ideas for minigore so if mountain sheep wants any help just give me your email. -LD

  23. You said there would be online play but would that just be over your servers or that and ad hoc? And would you ever do like a large map with PvP? Or a group vs a wave of constant furries?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Radar looks awesome from the pic you guys tweeted. Can't wait for the release. I hope it's soon!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Can you give us an ETA?

Loved the coop idea. Assuming you mean on two different devices and with online. PLEASE tell us when it will come out? Don't say soon...we are all incredibly eager!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anon #19: You can send us email from http://www.mountainsheep.net/index.php?catid=4

Anon #20: It would first be ad-hoc over bluetooth and later, if that's what people want, over our servers. I'm not a really huge fan of doing a large PvP, because you can already play deathmatch in so many games, but Anon #17's idea of the second player controlling where the furries go sounds really epic!

BenBot: Thanks! We ripped the radar off from our previous game Super Hind. :)

Jim: ETA is probably about in a week or two? Your guess is as good as mine. :) Yes, the co-op is on two different devices, and over bluetooth at first.

We are looking into making a free multiplayer client so that only the other player needs to have the full version of Minigore. You guys in favor of that?

    ReplyDelete
  27. free multiplayer client???
    what do you mean

i'd just like over your servers. just like in dinosmash

    ReplyDelete
  28. I mean that you could download a free version of Minigore that you can use to play co-op with someone who has the full game.

    ReplyDelete
  29. i guess that could be good for some people, i'd still like servers tho :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm ok with the idea about the multiplayer client. I really would like Minigore over the servers though even if the game would be a few more bucks. No PvP hmm, how about those bigger maps with more content?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Idk...I think it would be great BUT there could be a problem of everybody only playing that. I'm gonna get full anyway but maybe with the MP client the person had limited features or w/e? Plus a PvP would be interesting with like 5+ other people Thanks for reply and am screaming in eagerness waiting.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I tweeted this but whenever you decide to replay after dying there is a cross where you died.
Just those little touches make me love games simple yet cool.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thats a suggestion sorry for the confusing wording

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think it'd be cool to have more than just two payer co-op like have 4 or so and it could have a left 4 dead kind of feel to and if your team mate dies you can revive him, i also think it would be epic to have vehicles, and a story mode would be awesome

    ReplyDelete
  35. hey, does this have a health bar? how does health work in the game

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think a PvP would be cool. 6+? Plus coop for at most 4? Maybe possible 2-6 player PvP that involves one furry controller and the rest (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) are fighting furries. Different modes and all I guess. Sorry that I'm filled with ideas. Oh and maybe just make a different app that involves PvP with same engine or something.

    ReplyDelete
  37. i wouldnt like PvP actually. this game was made as a kill-the-zombie(furry)
    not a deathmatch game
if your gonna do PvP, please make it a completely seperate game

    killgore - maybe

4 ppl max co-op sounds good, and also with 4 ppl as john gores, and one person controlling the furries (so 5 all up)
    that sounds awsome! :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anon above^^: that's exactly what I mean: a new app with PvP and stuff!!! Or release your engine if you really want to but we'd like ou to do the work :P JK! Hopefully a PvP app will be coming soon with...well this...STUFF we've been talking about

    ReplyDelete
  39. lol i just cant wait till its out.. whats apple waiting for !!
dont they want a new number 1 paid for app?

    ReplyDelete
  40. HardGORE PS3 is the one that would have large levels with vehicles and stuff and many people playing at once, but that's on hold right now. I think Mountain Sheep want to keep MiniGORE fairly simple in that respect (especially judging by present level design and stuff).

    ReplyDelete
  41. hardgore ps3????
    is hardgore coming to playstation

    ReplyDelete
  42. /\ Why would it be ported to playstation? If anything it should be ported to 360.

Perfect candidate for xbox live arcade game

Any ways what the hell is taking apple so long to approve apps these days.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It *might* be coming to PS3... Development is on hold, and to Anon - No, maybe you're an MS fanboy, but in case you haven't noticed, PSN is actually rather suited to small unique games like this...

    ReplyDelete
  44. Have the developers even said anything about porting it to PS3? And really, Wii would be better anyways, the store is much easier to use. Maybe you're a PS fanboy?

    ReplyDelete
  45. really, it should come to pc.. lol jokes ps3 is awsome for arcade games

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ok all you guys saying stuff about massive PVP or making huge maps.....play another game. Also stop suggesting all these crazy ideas that don't even fit with the game, it's not a console game so don't expect it to be. The idea of 4-player co-op could be cool but whoever said to make huge maps PVP, come on that doesn't even fit the concept of the game. -LD

  47. WWII level plz, maybe with nazi zombies and air strikes and tanks :D the air strikes could be random, indicated by some target thing like in zombies and me, or u could call them by holding or tapping both joystick things n then it explodes from some mine thing on the ground like in boxhead. o n maybe turret guns.. double tap the shooting joystick thing? and a bazooka, id love a bazooka, but theres already grenades so yeah.. id love if you considered my airstrike idea though.. n maybe nazi furries if nazi zombies is too trademarked n tht... but yeah, airstrikes, think about it :P

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm just waiting eagerly for this to come out.

    ReplyDelete
  49. um, this is pretty much the same thing as nazi zombies, except with furry's and more arcade-ish

    just so you know

    ReplyDelete
  50. nazi zombies is a survival shooter, so is minigore, end similarities.

    ReplyDelete
  51. update 1 is going to be finished and submitted before the game actually comes out...

    ReplyDelete
  52. i knoww!! omfgod apple!! i want this game inside of me!!! how longs it been since this was submitted?

    ReplyDelete
  53. uhhh todays the 9th day :(

    ReplyDelete
  54. its somewhere between 10-20 for approval isnt it? still, a pocketgod update got approved in freakin' 4!

    ReplyDelete
  55. stupid biased apple!

    ReplyDelete
  56. is anyone considering my airstrike idea? i quite liked it. the nazi zombies was more of a dumb joke, but could you plz consider WWII and airstrikes?

    ReplyDelete
  57. "Minigore is in the good care of Apple waiting for approval."

    thats an understatement

    ReplyDelete
  58. They said a while ago, I've seen some concept pictures for HardGORE PS3, and whilst I have a PS3, I have to agree with other Anon it could fit very well on the Wii :)

I'll try find the pictures if you guys want... It looks very impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  59. ^^ yes please :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Updates get approved faster than new submissions.

Apple is really taking their time with this one. They need to sort out their approval process or hire a new manager for that department.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Very cool game. I think the peer to peer modus is the best! It would be nice if there were a switch weapon button!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Does everyoe understand that hardgore is not a survival shooter? I keep seeing people mention it but it is nothing like minigore. Oh and I jaw a PS3 but ithink that if the devs wanted to make money by putting it in a systems arcade they would put it on wii or 360 because there are way more of those than ps3

    ReplyDelete
  63. HardGORE PS3 art as requested ;)

    http://www.mountainsheep.net/hardgore/hardgoreps3gameplay01.jpg

"Last summer after we had finished our PSP game we started prototyping a new game, back then it was a project targeted for PS3's Playstation Network. We did about 12-15 game prototypes and then one day I happened to buy an iPhone as a carry around sketchbook ("Colors" is the name of the drawing app. I had used the app on Nintendo DS before so I knew it was worth the 500 USD ). Once I started buying games I suddenly realized it's actually a damn fine handheld gaming system! Not just a phone or an MP3 player. So we brainstormed for a while how to get our game idea fit the new platform and that's basically how Minigore and Hardgore as you know it were born.

PS3 version had stuff like building rigging with explosives and complex guard AI (designed by the talented Crysis AI lead) and procedural level generation. That's actually how the graphical look developed, the requirement was it had to be possible to generate procedurally. Looking back we were actually pretty far along the development process, even had a playable demo. Unfortunately for PS3 owners the project is currently on hold, though we may get back to it next year...

Artwork of the original PS3 version of "Hardgore" (aka "Captain Catastrophe" and several other names we had for the game ):

(practically everything except the main character has changed - we moved the game into a fantasy setting and instead of going through objectives & missions it become a survival shooter)

Some gameplay graphs of the PS3 version: (If you're familiar with old PC & Amiga classic Cannon Fodder that's pretty close to the gameplay it would have had. Explosive barrels for the win!)"

    http://www.mountainsheep.net/hardgore/hardgoreps3prototype01.jpg

"Above is a shot of the test level in the prototype, this is how ugly games look at the early stages of development But it's ok for testing different gameplay scenarios and the idea is that you don't go running off creating assets until you have a solid gameplay base that will not change drastically. If you do it in reverse order by creating expensive assets first you might end up with a big pile of stuff that never gets used. (and costs a fortune)"

  64. Mmm this app is taking too long...they're gonna reject for blood?no communication yet?

    ReplyDelete
  65. tic tac.. tic tac.. tic tac...

    I CAN'T WAITTTTTTTT....!!!!!

    O.o

    ReplyDelete
  66. If you haven't already, I suggest you add a few extra levels of security, as I am sure you are aware, iTunes DRM is crackable.

    ReplyDelete
  67. ^^ everything is crackable. theres really no point in putting time and effort into security when its just gonna be cracked with 10minutes of work

    ReplyDelete
  68. still waiting...no news boss?

    ReplyDelete
  69. wtf apple.. how long could it possibly take

i think you should bribe them

    ReplyDelete
  70. Every thing is not crackable. The new mewseek pro was never cracked, no one was able to do it. Too many security checks. Use your own servers for checks.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I have a suggestion. Make a level/map that has a marijuana field and when ever fire gores touch the plants they catch fire and get everyone high/slows down time but bullets still stay same speed. Maybe make the it look wavy.

    ReplyDelete
  72. i mean everything on iphone/ipod is crackable. Even dinosmashs online checks couldnt stop cracked apps from using their servers

    ReplyDelete
  73. I personally feel copy protection is really hard to get right and a lot of times it simply makes things harder for the paying customer. Crackers tend to be a lot better at security (and bypassing it) than game developers are -- which is totally understandable since the bread and butter of game developers is making games, not security features.

Airstrikes is definitely something to consider. A marijuana field would be really trippy! I wonder what Apple would think of that. :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Suggstion! - Can you make an online custom john gore creator. We create a custom unique looking john gore, hair, hat, clothes, etc, then upload over wifi and play with our custom john gore? That would be sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  75. they're gonna reject this...too long atm,as i say bf4 they do not like blood...or the name with "gore"...you will see...

    ReplyDelete
  76. Suggestion_ health after john loses both bandana and hat, have random health crate that puts bandage around his head and his machine gun arm in sling.

    ReplyDelete
  77. customize characters or like 5 preset characters that you need to unlock.
different modes-last stand mode cant move and the monsters come from all directions

    MOST OF ALL

MULTIPLAYER!!! USING THE NEW 3.0 UPDATE MAKE A ONLINE MULTIPLAYER THAT WOULD MAKE THIS APP GO TO THE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Obstacles. Make them mattere, you have bushesand trees and rocks, yet everyone can walk through them. There is so much potential here.

    Here is my suggestion.

Make it so you can't walk through any of them, except for the small furrys, which can run through the bushes. And then add in a small stream which slows you down, and slows down the smaller furries, and puts out the fire furries, but doesn't slow down the larger furries.

I think this would make the game much more strategic and interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Suggestion:
    Missions. :]
    Would be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Custom Characters should be update # 5 Or if your not willing to dk that and you wan more confirmation let us vote for episode 5 because so far you've said we get to vote on things, but I have yet to see anything remotely related to that.... :/

So for episode 5 let us pick.... Ask us what we want... I guess for starters maybe on your list could be: a character creater, more levels, more weapons, bosses, a level character etc.

Please consider this since all the planned updates are the ones you've come up with, not the ones we've come up with.....

    ReplyDelete
  81. That's meant to say a level creator sorry for the typos....
